Samsung to Incorporate Crypto Wallet in Lower Priced Galaxy Phones

South Korean electronics giant, Samsung will include cryptocurrency and blockchain features across its lower priced Galaxy smart phones.

In a report by Business Korea, Samsung states its resolve to expand crypto features to more devices and jurisdictions, by making its digital wallet app available to lower-cost models of the Galaxy Smartphone.

Senior managing director of product strategy, Chae Won-Cheol explains:

We will lower barriers to new experiences by gradually expanding the number of Galaxy models that support blockchain functions. We will also expand our service target countries after Korea, the United States and Canada.

It will be recalled that Samsung had earlier released its Galaxy S10 flagship Smartphone which is currently the only device with Samsung’s built-in cryptocurrency wallet.

The tech company looks set to continue its foray into the crypto and blockchain sector, haven recently invested $3 million in cryptocurrency hardware wallet company, Ledger.

Talks of a Samsung Coin (Samsung’s native token on Ethereum blockchain) have also been raised; with news of a possible partnership with SK Telecom and KT Corporation on the possibility of launching a blockchain-based digital identity (DID) verification tool.

Do you own Samsung’s crypto-enabled phones? Are you enthusiastic about this latest feature?
