One of United States Ivy League Universities has introduced an online course on financial technologies including digital currencies.
The Wharton Online School – University of Pennsylvania, will offer the new online Fintech course with a focus on the foundations and applications of financial technologies. The course will feature studies on payments, cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, crowdfunding and related finance topics.
Details of the programme show that aside lecturers, the course will also feature notable speakers and professionals from leading companies in the fintech industry.
Senior Director of Wharton Online School, Anne Trumbore said the program was launched in line with the university’s multi-faceted approach to fintech education and research on financial technologies.

Wharton now joins a growing list of western universities launching educational programmes in blockchain, cryptocurrency and fintech technologies. It will be recalled that recently Dublin City University, Ireland also launched a two-year online Masters Degree course in blockchain technology in partnership with the Irish government.
