
Top financial news outlet, Forbes has released a list of companies around the world with overall revenue of $1 billion which are implementing blockchain technology.
The list titled “Blockchain Billion Dollar Babies” features a mix of companies in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space, traditional financial institutions (banks), social media networks, food companies, supply chain firms and many more which are utilizing and investing in blockchain technology.
Cryptocurrency firms on the list include U.S based Coinbase, European mining and crypto hardware firm – Bitfury and XRP token company – Ripple. Other notable mentions on the list include household names like Facebook, Amazon, Walmart, ING, Google, Microsoft, Nestle, IBM, Samsung, VISA, BBVA (Spain), HTC (Taiwan) and MasterCard. Forbes goes on further to note the potential advantages of blockchain technology especially in simplifying multiple business processes and eliminating errors; as they also list specifically which blockchain protocols are commonly used by these companies; with Hyperledger, R3 Corda and Ethereum network protocols all topping the use cases list.
