Chinese search engine giant Baidu has launched its Baidu Blockchain Engine (BBE) as announced by its cloud computing unit.

The BBE is a blockchain operating system designed to facilitate easy development and deployment of decentralized DApps (distributed applications) and projects. Detailing the motive behind the BBE’s launch, Baidu Cloud states that it considers “open source, commercialized platforms as the only way to build a blockchain operating system.” BBE is said to have been built using Baidu’s ABC technology template which entails a fusion of artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing; with a vision to make DApp development “as simple as creating a mobile app.”

Baidu hopes to herald the commercial development of blockchain technology through an intelligent cloud BBE platform which it believes will positively impact the wider blockchain product space.  The BBE platform is set to address the flaws of the current available systems which have issues from inefficient single-machine storage, high data storage costs and computing lags.

BBE will provide developers with numerous services including multi-chain, middle tier frameworks, smart contract, DApp templates for various business scenarios as well as data security and privacy protection mechanisms.

Baidu’s Blockchain White paper also highlights six functionalities in the BBE design: trusted computing environment, high performance, high throughput, scalable storage, cross-chain trusted interactions, smart contract support and contract security audits.

The Chinese firm has also had other blockchain projects before now, notably its blockchain photography copyright protection platform called PIC-CHAIN.

Blockchain tech is Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies underlying technology. With its increasing adoption, use-cases and development among big institutions, it is a clear indication to the cryptocurrency and blockchain potential. Get in now, Buy/Sell your Bitcoin (cryptos) at www.nairaex.com.
